Made in England Dr. Martens 1460’s. $9.00 at goodwill. most docs are made in china or other asian countries now. the quality is said to be less than stellar. these things seem pretty old and you can tell the toebox is pretty flat unlike the newer ones. i will be able to wear these for a long, long time.

I picked up these Florsheim Dirty Bucks for $15 bucks on friday. They look like they got very little wear by their previous owner. I am kind of obsessed with brick red soles right now so i ponied up on these as i wouldn’t usually pay that much at a thrift store. however, when looking at some similar shoes like the mark mcnairy’s ($275) or alden’s ($437), or even j. crew’s ($148), i feel good about my $15 purchase.

This is the last great item i found this week. These 501’s are a little bit of a mystery honestly. They have a small e tab, redline selvedge, and a leather tag, and were made in the USA…which means they aren’t a reproduction of an older style made by the “Levi’s Vintage Clothing” branch…the inner tag indicates they were made in july of 2001 apparently…who knows…they are a good baggy fit and are great though for a pair of summer jeans.

i paid $5
made in USA selvedge 501’s start at $178

there is nothing i like more than buying clothes for cold weather when its been consistently over 100 degrees in oklahoma for over a month. i found this great american made pendleton wool button up at a thrift store in okc. i paid 3 bucks. it is very itchy but looks cool…i plan on wearing it with a long sleeve t-shirt under it this winter though and i can’t wait til it is cold enough to do it.

this is the only item i purchased while on vacation last week in chicago. its a really nice j. crew chambray that i paid 2 bucks for at a salvation army in uptown. even j. crews chambray shirts made for their outlets cost like 50 bucks. the ones they sell in store are around 100.

i picked up these beautiful Johnston and Murphy Heritage wingtips at the local goodwill…very nice american made shoes…i now have both brown and black dress shoes that i like. i paid 5 bucks for these. i believe these are called conley’s which are on sale right now for $325.00.

Saturday I found 2 pairs of vintage selvedge Levi’s 501’s…way too small for me…way too small for my wife in her current pregnant state…but i am guessing she will be able to put these to use once the baby is born.  these are both in great shape and even if they are too small for her, i would imagine i will just hold on to these ones for my future children…who hopefully won’t think their dad is a weird hoarder who has old pants that are too small for him.

I don’t really do hot weather…maybe that is why i never find anything to wear during the summer and basically just wear the same stuff as i do when its cold…anyways…i usually look for long sleeved stuff and when its over 100 degrees, they will cut you some deals on cold weather clothing. this is an awesome vintage grey crew-neck sweatshirt that is loopwheeled and is a french terry instead of your run of the mill fleece…to me, this fabric stays nicer longer…don’t get me wrong, a brand new fleece sweatshirt is awesome, but after a few washes, it loses its luster. you can see that this one has done some unraveling at bottom but i honestly kind of like how it looks.

mystery made in USA sweatshirt cost: $2.00

Full disclosure…this is the second one of these woolrich parkas i have picked up in the last month. The first one looked great in the store and fit okay (a little short in the sleeves honestly), but it was a $1.50 so i went for it. of course upon further inspection, i realized i didn’t like how it fit and honestly it had some discoloration that wasn’t noticeable in the goodwill. well, wouldn’t it be my luck to find a green one (which i prefer in color to the blue one i found first) in a size larger than the first one. the blue one has since moved on to a friend.
Woolrich Parka - Paid $3.50Worth - between $50.00 and $179.00 on ebay
